When Life Throws a Curveball, Hit It Out of the Park
Life is a series of surprises, heartaches, joys, tragedies, renewals, and redirections. If you remain flexible--even through the curve balls--you can navigate it all. If not, you may find yourself in a struggle. I think I am a little of both. I know that my transitory childhood taught me to be flexible, and I’ve used that skill where I’ve needed it most--being a mom. -
Walking In When the Rest Walk Out
Life is hard. We're told this all of the time. We experience this. True friends are there for us through EVERYTHING. That means the good AND the bad. It's very easy to share in someone's joy and happiness. It's much harder to realize and help them through their hardships and struggles. This is why most are "unavailable" at these times. You are lucky if you have a friend who is there for you ALWAYS. Return the favor - be there for them! . -
Mix Up a Classic New Orleans Sazerac
While it’s a close relative of the Old Fashioned, the Sazerac trademark is an absinthe “rinse” of the glass, and of course, rye whiskey. Introduce your girlfriends to this classic cocktail while you plan your next girls weekend in the Big Easy! -
Making Our Souls Blossom
This is basically what friends are! God gave us friends so we have someone in life that will pick us up, make us laugh, share our happiness, and give us love! Be grateful for your friends. Let your friends know how much you care about them! -
Friends Truly Care About How We Are
Friends truly care about how and what we're feeling. It is okay to confide in them - after all, that is why they're asking! Never be ashamed or scared to talk about your troubles, fears, or concerns with a good friend. That is why they are there. Wouldn't you want them to come to you in a time of need? A true friend will listen. A true friend wants you to be happy. -
Truly Great Friends are Hard to Find
If you have found your best friend - the one who knows everything about you, the one who loves you through it all - cherish that friendship! Finding "friends" is easy, they're all around you. However, finding best friends, those true friends who make our lives what they are, those are hard to find. If you have a best friend like that, let them know how much you care about them! -
Friends Lift You Higher
True friends lift you up in the best times AND the worst times. If at any point, someone drags you down, know that you deserve better. No one should ever bring you down. Be around people who inspire you, care about you, and respect you. If anyone does anything less, they're likely not worth your time. If "friends" do anything less, they likely aren't true friends. -
Good Times Better and Hard Times Easier
This might actually be one of the best, concise descriptions for someone who doesn't know exactly what best friends are. In short, best friends are ALWAYS there for you. Hard times, easy times, good times, bad times. It doesn't matter what issues you're putting up with (even if there aren't any issues at all), a good friends will never leave your side! -
The Best People Will Stay
We meet many different people in our lifetime, but true friends are the ones who stick around! Be grateful for the friends that you have. There is a whole world of people out there, and you both walked into each other's life and stayed! That certainly is special! -
Distance Can't Stop Friendship
How many of us have friends in different states? Different countries? It's difficult when you need your friend there, but distance makes it impossible. Remember, although some friends can't physically be there for you at a specific time, they truly are still there through love. Send them a text message, give them a call. If you miss them, they miss you too! You might not be able to see them, but the love is definitely still there!

A Smile Usually Generates Another Smile
My husband Pete had traveled to Hawaii with his dad, mom, and three brothers once a year since he was ten years old. After we were married I joined the tradition, and once we had kids, they came along too. -
Some Dreams Really Do Come True
40 years ago today, May 12th, my dad Eddie London passed away at approximately 1am Pacific Standard Time. Last night, I woke up at 3:10am Central Standard Time with him on my mind. This same thing happened to me on this day in 1980 when I woke after a vivid dream of my dad repeatedly saying, “It will be okay”.
