Juice up your day...and evening!


It wasn’t until I became pregnant with Lex that I forced myself to eat fruits and vegetables. But as you read on Monday, that has all changed. Because of my love for juicing, they have become a staple in my morning routine. (And, they can also very easily be converted into a refreshing evening cocktail. My homemade margaritas are made with fresh squeezed orange and lime juice rather than a sugar and preservative-filled mix.) 


My absolute favorite juice right now is the Pucker Up. I found the recipe from Kris Carr’s Crazy Sexy Juice book. In 2005, Kris was diagnosed with cancer and given 3 months to live. She decided to completely change her lifestyle, and that included being more mindful and intentional about what she put into her body. Luckily, she defeated cancer, and here we are, nearly 15 years later, reaping the benefits of her incredible recipes! I highly recommend her book. In fact, take it and your favorite juicing appliance along your next girls weekend for quick, easy, and nutritious morning and evening refreshments.


Ingredients for 1 Pucker Up | Multiply by degree of thirst/hunger, divide by number of girlfriends!

  • 1 pink grapefruit, peeled
  • 3 navel oranges, peeled
  • 1/2-inch piece turmeric root
  • 1-inch piece ginger, peeled
  • 1/4 lemon, peeled

Directions

Step 1

Wash and prep all ingredients

Step 2

Add ingredients to your favorite juicing appliance and press start

Step 3

Pour into your favorite beverage container and enjoy!


Ingredients for 1 Spiked Blueberry Lemonade | Multiply by degree of thirst/hunger, divide by number of girlfriends!

  • 2 small cucumbers
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 2 Granny Smith apples
  • 1/4 lemon, peeled
  • 3 tablespoons mint leaves, tightly packed
  • 1 oz favorite vodka

Directions

Step 1

Wash and prep all ingredients

Step 2

Add all ingredients to your favorite juicing appliance and press start

Step 3

Pour into your favorite beverage container and enjoy!
